1. Meeting called to order at 7:02 p.m.

3. Public Comments:
Deanna Alexander: Shared perspective on school location. Parents are anxiously waiting to know what is going on with the school location – hoping to hear an announcement soon so parents can make plans for the 2021-2022 school year. Added suggestion to notify parents on what documents are required for the registration process so parents are better prepared when moving through the registration process.
4. Board Meeting minutes from 3/3/21 were approved.
5. Principal’s Report:
– Should have location finalized and an announcement within the next two weeks. The Village of Summit planning commission meeting/public forum is scheduled for April 15 at 5:30pm. LCCA parents are encouraged to attend to provide support on why is would be good to have a text amendment to reinstate “day school use” in the Village’s institutional zoning.
Staff/faculty recruitment – Twenty-five offers to be made teachers and support staff. Please keep making referrals but for now we are in a good spot. Just posted a Business Manager role at the beginning of this week.
Student enrollment update: Currently 445 applications submitted and accepted offers, with and additional 50 students on waitlists. Parents have 10 days to accept their offer if they do not accept the offer(s), their offer(s) will be rescinded. Two sections of every grade, 4 – 9, and 3 sections grades K-2, thus the reason for the additional teaching staff in the younger grades.
Financing update: Appling for a Bridge Loan once our new lease is signed; expect a mid-May date for release of funds to bridge the school until state funds arrive in the fall. Beginning next month we will receive regular treasurer reports.
: New HR Director, Kim Nichols, on board for one week and has started to update the policies. Looking to hire an administrative assistant by early June to help with formatting and finalizing the school policies.
Hillsdale teacher training & curriculum: We have several copies of the Hillsdale program guide for teachers, one for each grade and specialty area. Hillsdale has an extensive staff that will train and supports our board, faculty and staff.
