Bart Williams, CIA, CISA, CSA, Director of Internal Audit, a SE Wisconsin Insurance Company
LCCA founder and board president: Bart earned undergraduate degrees in economics, finance, and political science, as well as a master’s degree in accounting. He is currently working on a doctorate degree (Ed.D.) in educational leadership. For years, Bart taught auditing to undergraduates and cost accounting to MBA students and has also been an academic advisor. He served a total of three terms on two different public school boards, and as an officer of the board all but one of the seven years he served. Bart is an audit leader in the healthcare industry, but he also has experience in 11 other industries.
Kristina Vourax, Public Relations & Marketing Specialist
LCCA founder and board secretary: With a double major in journalism and psychology from Indiana University, Kristina has 20+ years of experience in public relations and marketing. In her role as official spokesperson for United Airlines and her public relations position at the Denver Humane Society, Kristina gained invaluable experience pitching stories and providing weekly live on-camera and radio interviews. In addition to her strong media relations skills, she possesses a broad range of experience in strategic planning, crisis communications, website development, video production, and written communication. Kristina was also an account executive at Bozell Public Relations, providing PR and marketing support for healthcare and consumer clients including Abbott Laboratories and Harley-Davidson Motor Company. Kristina won two regional Emmys for her role as executive producer for two pet adoption advertising campaigns while at the Denver Humane Society.
Michael Blau, Michael E Blau CPA, LLC
LCCA board treasurer: Michael has nearly 25 years of experience in accounting and is currently the Managing Member of his own accounting business in Delafield, WI, Michael E Blau CPA, LLC. Michael brings a wealth of experience to the LCCA board treasurer position including tax accounting and preparation, and financial planning and analysis. Michael received his bachelors degree in accounting from Edgewood College and his CPA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Heidi Brookes, Director of Learning and Organizational Development, EVERSANA
LCCA founder and board member: Heidi has 24+ years of experience in developing and retaining a quality workforce by establishing an inspiring and engaging corporate culture. She is a collaborative leader that leverages change management skills to guide staff at all levels through periods of change and rapid growth and expansion. Heidi received her undergraduate degree in Marketing and German from Hillsdale College, and her Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University.
Lynda Daniel, Human Resources Professional
LCCA board member: Lynda has deep Wisconsin roots, having been born and raised in the Greater Milwaukee area. Although she lives in South Florida, she will always consider Wisconsin ‘home,’ as close family and hometown ties bring her to the area often. These connections resulted in her learning about and contacting the LCCA team to offer her assistance with bringing LCCA to life, as Lynda is a founding board member and key visionary of a BCSI affiliate school, Treasure Coast Classical Academy in Stuart, FL, opening in August of 2019. She also serves on the board of Jacksonville Classical Academy, another BCSI school opening in August of 2020. Lynda earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Central Florida in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and worked as a Human Resources professional for Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts and Martin County Board of County Commissioners.
Taryn Whipple, Professional Singer & Musician
LCCA founder and board member: Taryn graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance. She is a mezzo-soprano who performs regularly throughout the Milwaukee area. Recently, her cabaret Our Favorite Things: A Tribute to Julie Andrews delighted audiences in two sold out runs at Sunset Playhouse. She is the organist and choir director at her church in Wales. Taryn also plays the violin and piano andnges choral music.
Jason Heinen, Associate Attorney, Law Offices of Mark S. Knutson, S.C.
LCCA founder and legal advisor: Jason J. Heinen is a 2011 graduate of Liberty University School of Law. He graduated magnacum laude, served as Chapter President of the Federalist Society, and held the position of Symposium Editor of the Liberty University Law Review. Jason’s passion is advocating and counseling individuals and business owners in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, residential and commercial real estate transactions, and business law.
William H. Hughes, Ph.D., Program Director, Kern Family Foundation
LCCA founder and strategic advisor: William is the Program Director at the Kern Family Foundation. Prior to moving to the Kern Family Foundation in March of this year, William was the chief academic officer of Seton Catholic Schools (2015-2019), the largest network of 13 Catholic K-8 schools in North America that is strengthening academics and business operations at participating Catholic elementary schools in the City of Milwaukee. From 2012 – 2015 he was managing director of leadership for the nonprofit school support organization Schools That Can Milwaukee working with charter, choice and public schools while redesigning principal training and master’s degree program at Alverno College to focus on preparing school leaders to serve in urban schools. From 1996 to 2012, William was the superintendent of the Greendale School District, leading it to recognition as one of the highest performing districts in the Milwaukee metro area. He is a member of several governing and advisory boards to national and regional non-profits, think tanks, and associations.
Mitzi Keel, Director of Finance & Administration, The Drexel Fund
LCCA fundraising & development advisor:Mitzi has more than 13 years of experience working in education non-profit operations and fundraising. She currently works as the Director of Finance & Administration for the Drexel Fund. Previously, Mitzi was Chief of Staff for Schools That Can Milwaukee where she served on the leadership team and led team-wide operations and HR, development strategy, and day-to-day management of the Board of Directors. Mitzi also worked for Teach For America recruiting corps members and staff members. She also coordinated operations for TFA’s 2009 and 2010 training institutes in Chicago and served as the Director of Development for the Milwaukee region from 2010-2014. Mitzi has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Kansas, is a member of TEMPO Milwaukee’s Emerging Women Leaders Program, and serves on the Auxiliary Board for Notre Dame School of Milwaukee.
